About the KSCASI Thesis Award

The Karnataka State Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India (KSCASI) is pleased to introduce the KSCASI Thesis Award, to be presented at the forthcoming annual conference KSCASICON 2027, Tumakuru.

This initiative is to promote academic excellence, encourage research among young surgeons, and facilitate the effective utilisation of the existing research grant. The award is being introduced subject to the approval of the Executive Committee of KSCASI.

1. Eligibility Criteria

1. Institute limit: Every institute shall propose only 2 best postgraduate theses for this award.
2. Conference registration: The applicant postgraduate should have registered for the upcoming annual conference (KSCASICON 2027).
3. Examination status: He/She should have appeared for the postgraduate final year exam, or would be appearing for the final exams in the academic year, while submitting for consideration of the award.
4. Recommendation: A recommendation letter from the thesis guide, duly endorsed by the Head of the Department of Surgery, with a covering letter addressed to the Secretary, is mandatory.
5. ASI membership: Applicants must be Full Life Members of the ASI at the time of receiving the award, which includes converting Associate Life Membership to Full Life Membership.
6. One submission per author: Only one submission per applicant is permitted. A duplicate submission (by the same ASI Number or Email Address) will be rejected.

Applicants must submit two PDF files through the online form. Each PDF must not exceed 10 MB.

Please merge the following into one PDF, in the order listed, and upload as a single file:

• KSCASICON 2027 Conference Registration Receipt
• Recommendation Letter from the Thesis Guide (duly endorsed by the HOD)
• Covering Letter addressed to the Secretary, KSCASI
• HOD Endorsement on Institute Letterhead
• ASI Life Membership Certificate / Card
• Postgraduate Registration Certificate (optional)

3. Evaluation Process

• Applications will be screened by the KSCASI Executive Committee for eligibility.
• Shortlisted candidates will be notified by email and invited to present their thesis work through the online Zoom platform.
